Italian Ranch Chicken

Yes, another chicken recipe.  I do make other stuff in my Crock Pot.  Really, I do.  But chicken always comes out so good that I have A LOT of tried and tastey recipes to share :)

  • 3-4 boneless/skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet Good Seasons Italian dressing mix
  • 1 packet Ranch dressing mix
  • 1 packet chicken gravy mix
  • about 1 and 1/2 cups chicken broth
Spray the Crock Pot with cooking spray (always, for any recipe).  Add chicken.  In separate bowl, mix together the 3 packets into the chicken broth.  *Use a whisk, it mixes better. Pour over chickn.  Cook on Low about 4-5 hours (again, depending on your slow cooker and amount of chicken you use the time may need to be adjusted).   When the chicken is done, I make a gravyish-sauce.  Take about a cup of the liquid that's in the CP, pour into a small sauce pan on the stove on med-high heat.  To 1/4 cup of cold water, add about 1 TBSP Wondra (which I like way better than flour, but flour or corn starch is okay too) and mix well, then slowly add that to the sauce pan and whisk well until boiling.  Reduce to low and stir for a little while longer.  I make rice, put the chicken on top and pour the saucy stuff over that.  It's really good.
*This is very salty, too salty for some people.  Using half of the 3 packets and half water/half chicken broth makes it a lot less salty :)
